Crowned Birth Photography

#familygoals, y’all. I honestly don’t even know where to begin to describe this film. So much more backstory than I could go into here, of why I care for this family so much, but I have been honored to be there for a lot of their journey to the completion of their family with baby “Row”‘s birth. I photographed their wedding, was there as a friend while Audra labored with their first son at the hospital, was supposed to be there for the birth of their daughter but she delivered quickly a week earlier than her planned c-section, (but still flew out to capture a family film for them,) and now made it a day before the birth of their 3rd, surprise gender, baby boy! And what a celebration it was. Not only had Audra suffered a stroke one year prior (to the day!) and everyone was so grateful that she fully recovered from it & carried her healthy baby to term, but her husband Dan is a surgeon and she is an OR nurse at the hospital where they delivered, so you can see in the video how much love and joy surrounded them the whole time. The OB had the drape dropped so that she could watch her son be delivered, by all of their friends. Everyone had taken bets on whether it was a boy or a girl. 💙💗 (Dad’s reaction was just priceless!) I can truly say that these two are the kindest, smartest, most patient, creative, hardworking & generous parents I know. Their family absolutely radiates joy, and they treasure each other so much. Anyone who knows them would say the same! I just loved following them around their amazing home (a huge old barn that they have converted into their house) and farm (chickens, sheep, and ponies, oh my!)
Oh, and two year olds meeting their baby siblings are the ACTUAL BEST. Aven made me laugh/cry the entire time while shooting, and then over and over again while piecing their film together. I just couldn’t bring myself to cut out any more of the sweet little “Aven Show.” She is so proud of her “brother sister”!! 😍😂 I hope you enjoy the story of Daniel Rowan Skye’s birth.

So much to love about this NEW birth film!! <3
I loved capturing this beautiful couple (who I went to high school with!) become parents after a long road of trying to get pregnant. I loved hearing them read the sweetest letter to their firstborn son, and incorporating it into their film. I loved watching them walk through the woods by their house while laboring to bring him into the world, and capturing their first walk as a family in those woods after he was born. I loved capturing this L&D nurse, surrounded by her colleagues where she works as she finally got to bring her long-awaited little guy into the world. I loved that, even though it was a wee bit disappointing & a little bit scary in the moment to watch her wheeled quickly out of the room because of baby’s heart tones dropping, (and I wasn’t able to join them) she worked SO hard & was able to deliver him vaginally in the OR. I loved that a sweet nurse came back to take my camera in to get some shots for them of the delivery. But most of all, I loved watching them fall in love with this BEAUTIFUL little boy they have waited & hoped for for so long. Grab your tissues!!
