    Birth cinematography has become my absolute passion. I have been given the honor of capturing and piecing together many truly miraculous birth stories. A birth film is something beautiful not only for yourself to see the whole day unfold from a different perspective, but these memories are preserved for you to share with friends & family, and hopefully even your child someday. How amazing would it be for you to see a beautiful video of the day YOU were born?

    I am in awe every time I get to witness the moment each family sees their new baby for the first time. To see them take their first breaths, cry their first cry, and settle in sweetly on their mother's chest. You can never get those moments back.

Aven’s Story | Los Angeles Family Photographer and Videographer

We planned for me to fly down for Aven’s scheduled c section, but she couldn’t wait! After running a 5k 8 days before the scheduled date, momma went into labor fast that night & this beautiful little redhead made her debut. 🙂 I still flew out the following week & captured a lovely day in the life of this sweet family, and got to include the photos they took while still in the hospital. Enjoy!!

I would have arrived a little faster but I was dealing with my own health issues. A bit self-deprecating perhaps, but I would not be bold enough to compare my substance abuse problems with her pregnancy. Thankfully I have advanced well enough in my recovery at the Medical Insurance Rehab, that I was able to make the trip out to say hi. I still have much work to do, but I would not have missed it for the world.

The Birth of Araceli | Los Angeles Birth Photographer

This birth film is so so special to me. Araceli’s mom & I go waaay back, (junior high volleyball baby!) lost touch for over 12 years, and through the blessing of Facebook, reconnected again! I got a message the DAY she got a positive pregnancy test that she was hoping I could fly out from Colorado to Oregon to capture this little one’s birth. Well it just worked out perfectly that we happened to move back to the Pacific NW before she was due!The cherry on top for this film is that their close friend (and talented musician) Shani Rose wrote a song just for them to use! Just a couple months after her birth, Araceli contracted bacterial meningitis and had to spend awhile in the hospital. Shani wrote this song for them during that time, and we are all so thankful that Ara has made a complete recovery! The song is called “Listen to the Music” and it is the third song in their film. Enjoy this lovely birth story, captured at Adventist Medical Center in Portland, OR.

How can it get much better than this?? An incredible family, adoring siblings, a beautiful snowy day, and the most awesome support team at the Mountain Midwifery Center!

Anna - This is just beautiful! I love your work, I’m in Australia and watching these preparing for our second child and you have a true gift in capturing special moments. I love the music as well in this video, who are the songs by? Loving watching all these over and over 🙂

Lisa - I am not sure how I originally came to know about you- I think it was a mutual friend on Facebook but I have to tell you I am so excited you are moving closer to Portland and there is the posibility of you being able to photograph births in the Portland area. I have admired, smiled, and cried (many times) over the photographs and videos you have created. I hope some day you are able to photograph my next birth experience. Good luck with the move- thoughts and prayers are with you as you begin this new journey.
