I’m so thrilled to present to you the birth of my niece, Macie Jean. <3 This one is longer than most, so just a forewarning, but it is such a fun watch. I might even make a couple cameos with cell phone footage. 😉 This video was pieced together differently than others, a little more home movie-ish. The first song, “Those Days” by her friends Samsel & The Skirt, Tiffany had picked out even before she got pregnant. It was just the perfect song to accompany the documentation of their story.
My sister & her husband had a long, difficult road before welcoming Macie- suffering from endometriosis & struggling to get pregnant, enduring horrible pregnancy sickness, and then Tiffany became preeclamptic during her 40 hour labor & couldn’t get out of bed except to use the bathroom because her blood pressure would skyrocket. Just 45 minutes before Macie was born, she was checked at 5cm, and the decision was made to get an epidural to hopefully bring her bp back down since it was getting dangerously high. We helped her to the bathroom one last time, and LO AND BEHOLD, her body started pushing a baby out on the toilet!! She managed to make it back to the bed, and sweet Macie was born just a few pushes later. The delivery footage might be the most shaky & chaotic I’ve ever recorded! It was a bit difficult to keep it steady while crying myself. 🙂 Thank you to my sister & her wonderful husband for the honor of capturing Macie’s birth, and being willing to share it as well. I hope you enjoy this little peek into our family.
